Ok, this is awesome I love the streaming capabilities of the 360...but, I was always discouraged that it couldn't stream some of the more...popular...video formats...namely XVID and DIVX...but, lo and behold..someone created a program called Transcode360 that allows anyone to do it ..

So, this is what you'll need..

A XBOX360 (duh )
A computer with media center edition with the 2005 rollup
The transcode360 software (Download link is on the right side toolbar)
your favorite xvid movie .


Install the transcode software, reboot the computer...

Then, go to your 360...connect to the MCE computer...go to the video you want to watch.. either press "info" on your MCE remote or "X" on your 360 controller....then hit "OK" on the remote or "A" on the controller

Voila! Now you're playing your XVID video AWESOME!!!

The only thing that suxks is the media center only part.

Yeah, so it might actually be better for some to simply convert their videos.

You can only stream video to the xbox360 with MCE....so this is a MUCH easier way ....

I guess that makes sense.
