Default All I can say is WOW....TS-H943 DVD Firmware Hack for Xbox 360 Out in the Wild

I got online this morning and first thing I saw was..... "TS-H943 DVD Firmware Hack for Xbox 360 Out in the Wild"
Yes you heard it right it is confirmed that there is a working firmware hack for the 360 ALREADY. I knew it would happen but never thought it would be this quick. It is based off the old xbox firmware hack and as the describe it..."Much Easier"?? I have the link but do not wish to share it on here publicly in case Rob finds it an act of piracy, which it only explains making backups of your owned copies. The link shows you how to do it so thats why I wont post it but if you want to see it PM me and I will send it. And its on xbox-scene.com too.

This is one of those things that I tend to stray away from with consoles. Especially ones that are hooked to the net..

It's only a matter of time before Microsoft releases a mandatory patch (they already did it once) that thwarts this idea... I'm thinking they could move to the Sony PSP route and release mandatory firmware updates where a certain new game won't work until you upgrade.

It's a constant cat and mouse game. But, we'll see how it goes...

Excellent points made NCXCStud. The upgrades would be a good idea to help control this matter. But I am affraid once it makes it this far, theres no stopping them. As you all know I have a dark side and its in my blood to jump all over this. I already have the code and am going through it with a fine toothed comb. But so far I have not crossed the lines on the 360 yet so you can be proud of me for the while...lol.

Yeah, whats definitely kept me from 'succumbing to the dark side' is that I like playing against people online...and if they do what they did to the last 'hack,' i don't think i want to buy another 360 since my 'hacked one' would be 'blacklisted' and no longer allowed on Xbox Live

Very true. We still need to get together and play. Whats your favorite game to play online? I can try to hit you up.

Guys guys, this is not patchable. You need to write to the firmware of the drive. This can be very dangerous to do over the net. Not only that but if it failed to work (assuming it tries to write to the firmware of EVERY 360 NOT JUST THE HACKED ONES) there would be a lot of pissed off people.

I dont like the fact that this system will phone home if it is hacked. The original xbox did that just on live but this one can surely taddle on you.

It's not that I have a personal problem with it, nor do I with the idea of enabling a person to create a backup copy of a game (kids, cats, and dogs do nasty things to game discs so I'm all for it), but the DMCA is extremely clear when it comes to circumventing an electronic device's copyright protection measures. I just don't want to cause any trouble for Glitterkill.

Too bad they are covering these chips with epoxy now. The only way to slow hackers down is to dip the motherboard in glue.

u don't even need xbox live to play online games. I'm pretty sure there is a program out to connect to game servers using your PC. I did that on my original xbox and it worked like a charm, except that less people played at the time when xbox first came out because no one used the online feature...so halo was the only game but with about 200 servers.

Mikey, are you talking about XBox connect? XBConnect - Xbox | Xbox 360 | XBC360 | Internet Gaming Evolved

Me and my friends use ot from time to time, especially those that dont want to pay $5 a month (cheap i know but heck, i got some cheap friends). Works pretty dang good. Only problem is alot of people with modded units use it and have hacks for it. the hacks are easy to detect so it isnt that bad.
