So a couple of you might have noticed I have not been on xbox live lately...thats because I got he "red ring of death" and its getting serviced. I am about 1 step away from giving up on the 360 and becoming a 100% PS3 fanboy. But on with why I started this thread...

I found it very interesting that many of my friends that have a 360 are not on LIVE. WHY NOT I ASK? Without LIVE I can honestly say I would not own an XBOX 360. Its not worth it without it.

Here is an example. A friend the other day just was talking about how he is sick of Gears of War and thinks its boring and to easy. This is coming from a friend that is not using Live. My response..."YOUR CRAZY" Gears of War is one fo the top name games representing the 360, its true the game is easy to beat on the easy level and you could get bored with it. BUT NOT ON LIVE. Game play on LIVE with GOW is INSANE! I cant get enough of it!

Now one more example. Another friend complaining about NCAA 2007 is boring because he can beat the computer by 70-100+ points everytime. Well hell yeah that is boring as hell, but we all have known since Techmo Bowl on the NES that the computer sucks and always will. Try going on XBOX LIVE and play a ranked opponent and see if you can beat him or her by that much...it wont happen I can guarantee it!

I am writing this just to let people out there that are skeptical about getting LIVE...JUST DO IT! If anything just buy a 3 month package and try it out. I bet you end up buyin a years worth next time! There is so much more to the console when you plug it into the net! COME SEE WHAT YOU ARE MISSING!

What are your opinions my fellow 360 owners?

This Future 360 owners says yes, give it a swing-- and it probably won't be a miss.

I've played live, its great though if youre a total n00blet you'll get frustrated for a bit like in Gears, when somebody roadie runs right up to you then kills you in one shotgun blast.

Smack talk on Live can be fun, but gets annoying when a 8 year old screams NOOB through the headset for about 5 minutes. I hit the mute button after the third "n00b". De muted in 5 minutes, he kept going. Muted again.

Eh, I would only use it for gears.

From my experience with halo 2 (yah, xbox i know). I wasn't exactly a fan of getting thrown into a random server. I prefer server browsers, like the source engines.

It just didn't give enough options for me in halo 2. And every game has sheilds, why, sheilds are the dumbest crap in that game.

Gears, I wouldn't mind, becuase of the ranking system and acheivements, which the xbox's service lacks ( i think).

Waffes = I agree with you on Halo2's matchmaking service...but that wasn't XBOX Live's default...that was just Halo 2

I hope Halo 3 has the OPTION of using either. Im' like you, I'd rather select from a list and play it that way....
