The Instance Quest Thread

I'll try to compile a list of links to the quests available for Instanced dungeons (so you can see what quests are available and where to get them prior to going into the instance). As of right now, i only have Alliance quests listed. I'll continue to update this thread with more instances and i'll add the Horde quests as well (work in progress).

The level that's listed in parentheses in the links should be the minimum level that the quest is available to, NOT the suggested level for running the quest.

The Deadmines Lvls 17-26 (Westfall)

Chain quests (you need to do these to get to a Deadmines quest)

Red Leather Bandanas (lvl 10) - pick up this quest as soon as you can. All Defias mobs have the chance to drop these, and this quest is easily finished in the course of normal adventuring in Westfall. Once you have done this quest and also done the Defias Brotherhood quests up to (and completing) escoting the Defias Traitor, then you can run to the very tippy top of the watchtower on Sentinel Hill and get...

Red Silk Bandannas (lvl 14)...they drop of defias mobs in the Deadmines.

The Defias Brotherhood (lvl 14). This is the quest chain that culminates with the Van Cleef quest. There's a lot of travelling involved, but the VC quest rewards make these quests more than worth it. Scroll down the info in the above link for a list of the other quests in this chain (sort of, they cut off a few at the end).

The next quest in the Defias Brotherhood chain is Escorting the Defias Traitor (still part of the Defias Brotherhood chain). You have to escort this guy all the way to the entrance of the Deadmines. This path takes you through Moonbrook, and the traitor (and you) will aggro mobs along the way. I suggest a group for this one. It is possible to solo ...if you can't find a group to do this one and Moonbrook has a lot of folks running around killing Defias, then you can go for soloing this. Generally, if there are already a bunch of folks killing Defias in Moonbrook, then the chances are high that they'll be killing the mobs that you will aggro while doing this quest, and will probably give you a hand if they see you having trouble. NOTE: after this quest is done, it opens up the Red Leather Bandannas quest (if you've already done the the first Bandanas quest).

The last quest in The Defias Brotherhood chain is: Killing Van Cleef. Awesome rewards.

Non-Chain quests:

Collecting Memories(lvl 15)
Oh Brother...(lvl 15)
Both of these quests come from the same NPC. He's in Stormwind City in the Dwarven District. If you are running into the Dwarven section from the south side, he's in the first or second building on the right (bottom floor)after you enter the Dwarven section...it might be possible that he moves around, but i have always found him in that location. Both of these quests are in the Deadmines tunnels BEFORE you enter the instance. Look for the purple section of the tunnels on your minimap, and that's where you'll find the mobs for these quests.

Underground Assault(lvl 15). This quest also originates in the Dwarven District of Stormwind.
So, that's 5 quests in total for the Deadmines. If anyone has more information, comments, and/or suggestions, then post away!

The Stockade lvl 24-32 (Stormwind City)
Here's a great link for The Stockade (lvls 24-32)...this one covers all of the bases.

Blackfathom Deeps Lvls 24-32 (Zoram Strand in NW Ashenvale)

Knowlege in the Deeps (lvl10?)...the quest giver is in the Forlorn Cavern in IronForge.

Researching the Corruption (lvl18)...although this one is listed as part of a chain, you shouldn't have to do the first part (it's just there to send toons who start in the Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor).

In Search of Thaelrid (lvl 18 )...This quest actually starts at Dawnwatcher Shaedlass in Darnassus (if i'm not mistaken, this NPC and the NPC for the next Quest are on the floor above the Alchemy shop).

Twilight Falls (lvl 20)

Blackfathom Villiany (lvl 18 ) ...this quest starts with Thaelrid in the BFD instance.

Warlock only The Orb of Soran'ruk (lvl 20 )...the Quest starts in the Barrens and has one part in Shadowfang Keep and the other in BFD.

Paladin only Seeking the Kor Gem (lvl 20 ) ...The quest starts in Darkshore.

Gnomereregan lvls 29-38 (Dun Morogh)
