AIM problems

for some reason, for a while now, i cant seem to direct connect (or send files) to anyone, but others can direct connect/send files to me, no problems. whats wrong? i tried reinstalling aim but that didnt help. i recently did a reformat, and it didnt work before eather.

what version of AIM are you running on What OS?

im running version 5.9 on windows xp MCE

What about using another client? I would suggest Trillian or Gaim. Both are top notch programs--though I prefer Trillian as it looks nicer.Currently though, I use meebo (a web based client) but I don't think it allows for direct connects.

For file transfers, I wouldn't recommend trying to use GAIM, as FT only works with another GAIM user.

I would try an older or newer version. AIM.com or OldVersion.com should set you up.

I personally don't like AIM 6, and am using 5.5 something.
