Question XP saved web pages help

The solution to my problem might be obvious to some but I sure can't find it.Whenever I save a web page in My Documents, My Computer, etc. it comes out with windows for the icons and other elements of the page.
How do I get around this for the saved file to open up as the full page? I hope the only way to get around is not "save link as" or taking a screen shot and saving it or copying the text to note pad and saving that. I'm always afraid the link will die at some point, but maybe that's just my paranoia kicking in.
THX for any enlightenment.

If you go up to the File menue at the top of your browser and click on save as that will save the active link. by clicking on it later it will take you to that page.

Or if you dont care about the save being an active link ADOBE Acrobat can save/print pages as seen on
screen but with no active links.

A slightly easier way would be "Add to Facorites" and just check the box that says "Make available offline"

You can even click on the "Wizard" and have it synch up for ya!
