| Apex Master Tech | Today I got on my computer and that MS notify to update and so I did and restarted. Once I got to my desktop i tried playing music and no sound came out. I went to device manager and it should the little ! sign on 3 things. I checked them and 2 where cod 39 and another 1 was code 28. I tried uninstalling the sound and reinstalling. It didnt work so I looked at the internet and it said it was MS sound codes are somthing. So I thought I would try and repair the OS with the CD. Now after it did the repair and restarted it went and started installing. It stops at 34 minutes left and it just took 3hours to go to 33minutes. So I was wondering I have 2 hard drive 1 is a raptor with the os on it and the other harddrive is just for storage. Do you think it is possible to install the os on the storage drive so I can have access to what I have stored on it. If it doesnt sound right its cause im little pissed off from the update doing this.

| Sir Knight of Spamalot | If all you want to do is read from it, a Live CD Would do (if you want to make the switch to linux anyway..) If not, backup any important data on your OS drive, and reformat. I dont reccomend putting an OS on a all storage drive, because just in case the OS goes haywire, your data has the potential to be lost. Without the OS, there is a lesser risk of losing your data, although it still can be lost to a dieing HDD.

| Apex Master Tech | Sorry for making it sound confusing. But I tried doing a OS repair and it deletes everything then it restarts the computer and installs it back. But everytime it starts to install it stops at 34 minutes. I was woundering if it would be possible to install the OS on the other hard drive I have saved all my games, music and video on. I need to finish a project I was working on. I was just wondering if I put the OS on it will it be able to run the programs that where there or would I have to reinstall those too.
