S2003 wont join active directory domain

So this is a question from my dad, so yah.

"I have a windows 2003 member server, with an NT4 domain that refuses to join a server 2003 active directory domain, other computer's join just fine, any suggestions."

Upgrade to Win2k from NT4?
I unfortunately do not know enough about active directory, but I know Win2k rigs can connect as we have some at work. (I didn't set up the network though but I know how to join them to the domain)
