Default Update.exe taking all my system resources...

Alright, I have Windows MCE (newest version) installed on my computer...lately i've noticed that the machine starts to run incredibly slow...

Looked in my processes tree...and a little program called Update.exe is sucking up all my system resources (usually at 99% usage). Where the hell did this program come from and how can I get rid of it, if it is indeed malicious??

I've looked in Windows and the subsequent system and system32 folders, but nothing comes up...I've also searched for Update.exe but it 'can't find it...and my anti-virus (avast) and two spyware removers (adware and spyboy S&D) don't flag anything down...

Anyone know of a way I can remove this program or at least keep it from taking 99% of my system resources?

Thanks in advance guys!!

I was doing a quick search on the Update.exe. This is a link to what I've found on it. It doesn't seem to be anything malicious.

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../winupdte.mspx

According to the link, it's also called MSI Installer, or part of the package.

Maybe lower its priority to low. It doesn't seem to be malicious but at the same time theres no reason it should hose that much of your system.

Task Manager->right-click on update.exe -> Set Priority ->Low

I've posted this link on another thread but it doesn't hurt to post it again.

http://malwhere.com/processes/index.html a list of various processes and a description of them in alphabetical order.
