Default XP lost keys, new mobo

OK here's the problem, I have someone who lost their XP Home cd after a couple of moves, and now they had to replace their mobo and cpu. XP is demanding verification to work. Until this is done, we can't install drivers for network devices to work this process over the internet. I enter the numbers it gives me for a phone verification and MS keeps coming back at me saying they aren't valid. The OS was working just fine with the previous mobo/cpu.

So I'm trying to figure out how to get this to work without having to buy a new license for the same install of windows on the same hard drive.

You call microsft and give them those numbers, then they give you new numbers to type in.
I've done this thousands of times, never had a problem.
As for your lost disk, How to replace lost, broken, or missing Microsoft software

Yeah, that's what i did. My dell opti 260 had xp pro. I tried entering the key in and it said it wasn't valid...but i called em up, got my new PIN # and presto...unfortuanatly the lady was Jamaican so it took me about 10-15 minutes to get my number properly including the waiting i did on hold with elevator music.
