Default Vista B2 Install problem...

Alrighty...I downloaded a copy of Windows Vista Beta 2 from the microsoft website...and ahve now tried to install it 3 seperate times (twice with the 64bit version, once with 32bit...) and I keep getting the same error.

I've tried both burning a CD and must mounting an image of the ISO that you download.

My error deals with winlogon.exe being corrupted or not there...

I have no idea how to fix this, and i havn't been able to find anything else online about this.

I'm trying to do a dual boot on two seperate partitions...would this be the problem? I really dont' want to do a clean install on a fresh drive for this Vista beta...

any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: file isn't WINLOGON.exe its WINLOAD.exe

NCXCStud i would try it with out partitioning your drive, i had no problems loading it onto my drive but of course i did not partition it, i give that a shot and see what happens.

yeah, that's what I was trying not to do...

I'll try to move stuff around..I just don't want all my stuff to go into a Windows.old folder, lol.

I have 2 hard drives, one partitioned.

From my further research, it seems like Vista has a hard time distinguishing what drive it's on when it's put on a partition...

I thought it might be beacause I had Windows Vista instead of vanilla Windows XP...so guess that wasn't it.

I'll try moving stuff around on my other drive and see how that works..

Yes i know how you feel there NCXCStud, i also would like to have had my drive partition but seeing that there is so many glitches and not enough support for it , i did not partition it hope everything works out for you in getting all your stuff moved around.
