Media Player 10 - can't play most video files

HI,

I just installed the latest drivers for my Video card and now Windows Media Player 10 won't play almost all video types. It gives sound but no video.

I have installed the K-Lite Mega Codec pack yet no joy.

I can play pretty much everything, except HD content, using DivX player though.

FYI my Videocard is the G NVidia GeForce 6800 with driver 84.21.

Any ideas ?

I'd reinstall the drivers, or run driver cleaner and reinstall older ones. I had an issue with BETA drivers once that killed my DVD playback.

If you can play some files in DivxPlayer, that leads me to believe that WMP 10 my be haven an issue with the codecs.

If you installed K-lite did you instal the classic player? If this can play all your files and you like it well your set. If not you can try WMP11...yes 11. It was just released in beta but you need a clean(legal) windows install.

I'd recommend WMP11 its damn good!

Its designed for Vista and is still buggy, but its not to bad.

I reinstalled the older NVidia driven and things are back to normal....... cheers
