Default windows takein forever to startup atfer a cleaning

OK here is my problem I took apart my computer to clean all the dust out (I do this about once a year) no part had changed everything is back exactly the way it was before I did this

here is the story

I booted a different copy of windows xp from a friends hdd to do some stuff for him them immediately after I removed all components to clean everything out them then I put it back together now any copy of windows xp I try to boot takes like forever (at lest 15min) to boot up I don’t know why it could be something his windows did but I doubt it or its something hardware related

once it gets going everything is fine I checked out everything and they are all running at the correct speed and seem to be working right I have no outher errors sept this very annoying startup slowdown

What is going on and how do I fix it?

thanks for any advice

If every thing else is good than It sounds like you might have plugged the drive cables in wrong.
As in master on slave and slave on master .
check your drive jumper settings.

Maybe the boot order is now wrong in the bios .
If that doesnt work you might want to try clearing your Bios (CMos) and load optimized defaults if available.
then reset the boot order correctly as in Hd first
