New RAID setup wont boot without windows disc...

So I decided that i best put to good use the $220 worth of raptors that were sitting on my desk (2 36gb) so i hooked up my SATA RAID card and got to work. at the end of the process, my comp will boot fine WITH the windows cd in the tray for some reason. if you remove the disc, it wont boot, claiming my harddisk lacks a file called "hal.dll" i looked at the place they said it should be (system32 folder) and sho' nuff its right there where its supposed to be. Anybody know whats going on/ how i can fix it? (i already told my BIOS to boot from the RAID set too) Thanks

Dumb question, but did you change your BIOS boot order?

Yes i switched the boot order, and it is the only bootable disk in my comp anyway. oh and bump.

Are these fresh drives, or new?

The article even has info on what the HAL is if you are interested...
