Why does my search feature no longer work?

Win2k, all the latest updates, has been doing this for a WHILE. I type something in, and push the search button. it greys out for like .2 seconds and then just lets me push it again, seems like it is not even searching, it does this on C, my computer etc etc.

Ive had something similar happen. It would search, and not go past 0%. Theres something on the windows help that tells you what to try. Just go to windows site, and start searching. Thats what I did. (I cant remember what to do, maybe try fidding with connection settings in IE options)
