![]() | ok, so i get a new hdd to replace my other one. Its a S-ATA 80GB Maxtor, the computer detects it and everything but it tells me something like "choose boot device then re-boot, press any key" umm...help? lol...

nope...setup doesnt show up. i went into my bios, checked everything out, the cd rom is being detected...but for some reason windows isnt starting up, instead its asking me to pick a boot device, then re-boot and sh*t..

| PCApex Review Editor | Don't forget to set the boot order up properly. Set the CD Rom first. . . also, I don't know how common this is, but I have run across a setting in some Bios that prevents the system from checking beyond the first link in the boot chain. If that's the case, your system is looking for the boot sector on your new HDD, and since it's not finding it, it's not bothering to move on down the line. If that's NOT the prob, I'm stumped. |
