Default Windows Media Edition BSOD

I recently encountered a problem with my Media Edition. Everytime I go to record a tv program, my computer locks up and shows the blue screen when my screensaver kicks in. Why is this doing this and how can I stop it? Thanks for any help that can be given.

I've always been told that that would cause my monitor to have a burn in. By the way, my computer is a HP media center m7170n

Member roster doesn't count all profiles, it doesn't count me sometimes. Used to be for months I didn't appear on the member list.

Member roster doesn't count all profiles, it doesn't count mine officially. See member list, you won't find me if you search by rep because I'm not counted correctly.

Well, doesn't that just screw up everything?

That is due to the members that have been deleted because of multiple profiles or just because it is my way of killing them.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. I don't mean to sound rude, but does anyone know the solution for the initial reason for this post?

Has it always done this or has it just started happening? Any recent driver updates? As far as burn in to the monitor goes, if you are recording tv isn't the screen "moving"? Honestly I never use screensavers. I just turn the monitor off when I am done.

BTW: the reason for a screen saver was to prevent burn in on old old systems. Most if not all systems today, their monitor will not have that problem.

Yes, the problem is recent. I have made no additions or updates to my system between the last time I successfully recorded a program and the beginning of this problem. I will turn off the screensaver and see if this makes a difference. Thank you, again, for all of your help.

next time it bosd.... write down the stop code...

also use memtest http://www.memtest86.com/

and make sure your memory is okay....

another source ( to look for your problem) is to look in the event logs...

EDIT...

also for your screen saver... disable it ... goto power settings and have the computer turn off your monitor insted.... this will save yer monitor from the dreaded burn in... thats unless you have a lcd... then it dosent matter
