![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Is your HDD a new one or one that was previously used by yourself or someone else? My guess is that if it is an older HDD, that it could have at one time been in a dual-boot configuration with one OS on the 1st partition and Windows on the 2nd...... just a guess though. I can't think of any other explanation unless maybe .CAB files or something are stored there to save from having to insert the Windows disk when necessary. |

If so, I would hesitate to tell you to delete it as that may be the actual install rather than the primary partition one, although I doubt it. Although it may be an inconvenience, you could always format and reinstall if it bothers you too much. |

![]() | ok i found the problem today it is something with the windows update for some reason when i do it i restart and from then on the boot takes 4ever. i did a restore and it boots fine. I'm not sure if anybody else has noticed this but if not this is a warning, I might not be a unique case.

| Apex Master Tech Apprentice | Sounds like you were on the track of something i would do lol. one thing you might want to try though is on that other partition if its say around 2 gig leave it there and use it as a swap partition go in and adjust your virtual memory so that the extra partition is say 1024 minum and max 2048 then turn off the virtual memory on your partition running windows thats actually a little trick that speeds up preformance a decent amount and it makes your computer a lil bit more stable when its running.
