Odd screensaver problem...

I just upgraded my Mom's computer from ME to XP Home. It is a 1.5GHz AMD chip, Biostar mobo, 512 Corsair XMS RAM, Thermalright PSU, onboard video and sound. Here is the problem, the Screen saver/ monitor shutdown does not work! I have tried every setting I can think of, it is set up in the power management as a desktop. The monitor never shuts off.

The screen saver does not matter, I just want the monitor to shut off after 10 or 15 mins.

Any ideas? I have never seen this before.

Did you do an OS upgrade or a fresh install of XP? That could be it.

OS upgrade, I useally do a format, but she has some stuff she wanted to keep. Any advice on fixing this?

I know its irritating but try the upgrade once more. Just as a "what if"
