  |  Red Hat Linux, no internet I have cannot get the internet going on my laptop. I got Red Hat insalled on it, it is hooked up on my home network with cable internet. I am lost using Linux, and totally lost on how to get this thing folding! Any help would be greatly appreciated! E Please ignore/delete this post. I had a problem with my main computer's cd burner, I am now burning several legal Linux installs, and will find one I like and be back most likely at another time with more questions. E

if you're downloading the images off the net, make sure that you run the md5sum check. Believe me, it's saved me MANY MANY MANY times. Note though - md5sum IS filename AND case sensitive (at least based on my understanding of it) so if you have "fileName" and "filename" will yield different results. be careful about that. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

I am running Mandrake now, had a bad download, got all of that fixed, and it looks like the laptop is folding away. E

Yes, it is case-sensitive  Saved me a couple of times too.
