Default Windows XP Backup Problem

Alright, so I have my previous install of Windows XP on this hard drive in my cousin's computer here. I'm trying to back up My Music, Videos, and graphic work, etc. You know, all the necesarry things, and stupid me set up some user accounts on my previous install, so now that I'm not logged onto any of those accounts, I can't seem to access the files.

For example, I go to E:\ (the second drive) Documents and Settings\subdismal and it says that access is denied. Is there ANY way that I could get in to those folders to make a back-up of my files? Otherwise, this is going to cost me a whole lot of time and aggravation, and nights alone crying, over having to get all this stuff back.

I've tried all the tricks I can, and the only thing I can see is that the folder is in some sort of permanent read-only mode, but even so I should be able to access this, right?

Anyone ever been through this before? Were you able to figure this out? :cries: Someone...please...help me!

Well, as usual I think I have found my own solution.

After Googling and going through the seemingly endless web of links to links to sites, haha. I'm going to give this a try as soon as I get home. I sure hope if this works, I could reclaim "ownership" on my new PC. Meh.

At least if someone else searches the forum, they can see that I probably found the solution, so they can give it a try.

Sorry for my flipping out and giving up so easy, haha. I really need to stop doing that.
