Here's the target, just create a new shortcut.

C:\Documents and Settings\xxxYourUserProfileNameHerexxx\Desktop\Sho w Desktop.scf

Oh, and put that in quotes. I'm sure there's probably an easier way to do that, but that's the only thing I could think of.

I personally don't use those buttons, I just use all the Windows hotkeys. WindowsKey + D is the one for show desktop. That's what I use all the time.

ok so i tried that, but it only made a short cut for a folder....instead of minimizing everything, it just opened a folder like i double clicked that folder.....do u know if there is a direct shortcut in the system folder er something?

  1. Start Notepad (Click the "Start" button, "All Programs", "Accessories", "Notepad")
  2. Copy and paste the text in the gray box below into Notepad:
    Code:
    [Shell]
    Command=2
    IconFile=explorer.exe,3
    [Taskbar]
    Command=ToggleDesktop

  3. From Notepad's "File" menu, select "Save As...", and save it as
    C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf
