right click on the desktop go to properties click the appearance tab click effects and where it says "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" choose standard instead of ClearType. That will get rid of the drop shadow I think your talking about. This is for XP, but it's probably the same in 2000. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Windows 2000 doesn't provide any built-in way to do it. What you can do is use a free utility like TransText, as long as you don't have Active Desktop enabled. http://www.realityrift.com/applications/transtext/ | ||
