Default Ghost Switching and Opening Windows

It's starting to make me insane. Have massive security apps, all updated, totally clean system. There is no bugs in here, I'm positive.

Ok, windows keep opening by themselves. 2 or 3 in a row pop up. Takes me of f the window I'm on.
Sometimes it just de-selects the mouse position, so I have to put it back. Happens in online forums and in M$ Word.

I checked all the settings there is to check. WTH is going on?

Any ideas?

Windows2000, Firefox, running F@H 24/7, 2 PCs networked with a Linksys router.

Thnx.

When the windows open, have you checked to see if there are any new processes running with them?

Myself, whenever this happens, I ALWAYS assume the worst and run a three way run of Adaware, Spybot, and now M$'s anti spyware proggie. All are free, and they'll cover most of what could be causing this . . . The next step is a stop at www.hijackthis.com.

What firewall are you running? Just relying on the router, or do you have a software firewall as well?

I have a product review coming out soon (finished, but awaiting approval) that should address this problem rather nicely....... hold tight.
My guess is something has been overlooked in the registry that is causing this, or something in your System Volume Information folder that keeps reinstalling itself due to restore points.

Cool, where do you post the info about it when it's out?

Good idea about processes, have to check on a few of them.

I already ran Adaware, Spybot, SpySweeper, AVG, TDS, Hijack This. I have ZoneAlarm firewall.
It's all clean. grrrrr.

Thanks for the tips.
