| Sir Knight of Spamalot | u may be wondering why I want to do it..but I have a couple question re gaurding it.. I wanna run some old mac games I have on a pc I know it can be done and I got it to work..but the prob is..I cant get the os installed... I am using BasiliskII to emulate the mac os on my comp. I got the rom and created a virtual hdd with 100 megs and gave my self like 32 megs of ram lol. I have a mac CD but I can copy the files on the vitural hdd, but cant boot from it. I assume I need the essentail files to get the os started. The mac is a Performa 630 and I think it ran os 6 or something like that. lol if ur wondering what the games I am trying to run, they are marathon ( I know they make a windows verson no $) and final doom for mac..I have others games but cant find em all I want to do is to be able to read the cd and instal and run the game on pc..

| 5-Hoe-1 Jeans | I really can't help you much here (though booting from a virtual mac hard drive sounds a little ludicrous, but I don't know). I will tell you that I belive there are open source marathon projects that might help you and I'm definately sure you could find Final Doom for PC REALLY cheap. With Doom 3 around the corner, Final Doom is a bit of a misnomer |

![]() | try this http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/ ive never used it but ive read about getting complete OS X installs to boot from it might be overkill if all you want is playing games but then again you might find you like having a triple boot (because of course you have gentoo installed i mean doesnt everybody)

| Apex Techie Lite | From what I remember for a MacOS machine to boot: System Folder in the root of the Hard drive, two files (under system 6) required: System and Finder. That's about it to actually get the system running... but I'd have to go back and take a look at a sMac to see what really is required.
