| Alright, so I got that sasser(whatever its called) worm along with msblast and many others. Its really messed up my computer, so today I decided to re-install. The problem is that I can't type anything in DOS mode. So really I can't reformat. The only time I can do anything is if my keboard is hooked up USB, then and only then can I get into my BIOS but I still cant type things in CMD prompt. Im going to try ditching my PR3ACH3R bios and see if that works, if anyone can help, it would help! My specs: 2400+ @ stock Abit NF7-S GEIL ram blah blah blah | ||

| Make sure "USB Keyboard Support" (or something along these lines) in BIOS is set to 'enabled." For XP installation this should do the trick, I guess. Or, you can just hook it up via a USB-to-PS2 adapter, if you have one around. (They pretty much come standard with most USB mice.) | ||

OK - Im confused as to why your booting into DOS mode to reformat and reinstall XP - pop the disc in and go from there. You can delete and create partitions and format them all from the installation CD - no need for DOS mode.....

Ok, I have got to the install in windows, its at the part 1 "installing components" i think...anyways, i need the file "Radlinker1007oem.msi" this only comes with the omega drivers so I cant find a download for it. Why its asking me for it I dont know, i just wish my keyboard would work so I could reformat and install the rite way ![]()

| Do what Aaron said...boot off of the CD. DO NOT REPAIR YOUR INSTALLATION. Delete your partitions when you come to the screen asking which partition you want to install from. Highlight your current OS partition, hit 'delete', then it'll ask you to confirm by hitting 'L'. It then brings you back to the 'choose partition to install' screen. Highlight the now UNPARTITIONED space and hit 'enter'. It'll ask if you want to create and format. Say yes or whatever. When it askes what file system to format as, select NTFS (Quick) and hit enter. You can choose the other NTFS but you'll need to upgrade your computer by the time the format ends. (Read: It takes a helluva long time, especially on big partitions) DO NOT SELECT FAT32 unless you're a dork. Follow the rest of the instructions. [EDIT] I'm not responsible for any data hosage. You do this at your own risk. You should know that DELETING a partition means that ALL DATA in that partition will be DELETED. That's why it's called DELETING. Have fun! | ||
