| Freck-hoe-d | Ok so I got a Raptor (YEAH!!!!). So I plugged it in and proceded into windows to partition it and format it. So I go over to device manager and partion and format the drive. Fine everything is good. I reboot and change to load cd first, and put in my windows cd. Well as it loads all its junk and I hit enter to continue, I get the message that it couldnt find any hard drives. Any idea why its saying this? I mean I have it formatted and all, and I know I have the correct SATA drivers because I was able to see it in windows, but now it wont work. I'm just a little confused

| Apex Tech God | Yeh on the very begining of the install you have options appearing at the very bottom of the screen. One of these should read "PRESS F6 IF YOU WISH TO INSTALL RAID OR (something) DEVICE/DRIVER" once there, it will prompt for the disk.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Make sure you have the jumper in the rightmost position or pulled completely. I unplugged my other HDD and disconnected the data cable. In BIOS make your boot sequence CD-rom, SATA, floppy. It helps to declock your massive O/C if you have one... 200 x 10 and stock voltage is good. reboot and keystroke, when you are prompted to boot from CD. (still can't find the "any" key) Windows is examining your system, bla. bla. bla ...first you see "F-6" anything, hit it, it will continue to load setup, and when you are prompted Insert disk into Drive A:/ hit enter scroll down to the driver, er whatever the case, and click enter again and windows will load the SATA driver then. from there it's just like a regular format and fresh install... ...for that funky "light stays on" fdd, that just can't be recognized anywhere? flip the data cable over, and try that Last edited by ZENNZZO; 21-April-04 at 08:03 AM. |
