Group similar taskbar buttons

I just wanted to try to use taskbar grouping but when I applied it I found that its not working. Like I can open 50msn windows and it wont group at all. Ive tried disabling and reapplying it and rebooting, still nothing

anyone have any ideas how I can get it to work?

You can try modifying the settings directly in the registry. Find the following key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\
Advanced]

Now create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called "TaskbarGlomming" and set it to 1.

You can also adjust the minimum number of items you want grouped. In the same key create a new DWORD value called "TaskbarGroupSize" and set it to the minimum number of items you want grouped together.

Is it possible to set grouping to specific applications like only group IE windows?

You're welcome. As for your last Q--nope. If it groups, it groups everything.

there is no way to do that?
cuz I find that when you group everything like for exmaple 4 msn windows
it flashes in the taskbar but when u click to go answer a message it doesnt say who its from
so you have to guess which person is messaging you :s

kinda wierd if you ask me
