| Apex Elite Tech  |  Driver installation for AMD 770 chipset Now, I've always followed a process more or less with driver installs: Install the OS. Then chipset, video, sound, everything else, and LAN last (so Windows Update isn't nagging the whole way through). However, I'm thrown by this new AMD770 board I'm working with (Asus M3A78). There seems to be nothing analogous to the chipset driver pack Intel, ULI, and VIA have traditionally offered. The AMD driver page offers a RAID-related tool (I'm not using RAID) and something that tweaks drive performance, but not the usual "makes Windows recognize IDE and USB stuff" drivers. I found a package on the Asus site, but I prefer to go to the vendor for the sake of greatest currency. Also, I note that the packages I installed left an "unknown device" in Device Manager. The PCI ID correlates with the SB700 southbridge. Where is the "right" driver pack? | |
