| So I bought all the parts needed to build a new computer. I'm installing a legit copy of Windows XP SP2. I pop the cd in, run the disk, format the drive, it copies necessary files to install XP, and restarts itself. Then I get to the Windows logo, and I can see it installing (that blue screen showing what step it's at, with the fun facts about XP, yatta yatta) and the BAM - I get a BSOD. I'm out of ideas. What should I do? ![]() | ||

It will handle it fine, but you must make sure with a new build that everything is running at the correct voltages. Most enthusiast RAM needs more voltage than the JEDEC spec, but the motherboard often doesn't know that, which causes much grinding of teeth. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
