That is the client. Thanks for your feedback.

I guess I was too vague. I need to run remote desktop as a server on my pc.

To set up an XP Pro computer as a Remote Desktop Host (a.k.a. Server):
  1. Open the System folder in Control Panel. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double–click the System icon.
  2. On the Remote tab, select the Allow users to connect remotely to this computer check box, as shown below.
  3. Ensure that you have the proper permissions to connect to your computer remotely, and click OK.
  4. Leave your computer running and connected to the Internet. Lock your computer.

I know how to do it in the Pro edt. just not in the Home edt. I just got done reading many documents from MS and it looks like it will only work on the PRO edt.

XP Home can only recieve - XP Pro sends the requests.

(This is because XP Pro is actually for networks and meant to be able to do network management.)

I believe you might be able to do it through MSN/Windows Messenger.

---

Also - what are you trying to do with it. There might be a better way...

I know with Win2000 you can use Terminal Services, but I doubt XP Home has that. Microsoft NetMeeting provides similar functionality, but I think you have to have someone there to receive the incoming request (which probably makes it useless in your case). Course, there are programs like PC Anywhere, but those cost money.

You might try this: Virtual Network Computing 3.3.7, a free program that lets you remotely control your PC. Ninety-five percent of users liked it -- here's what one said:
"This program works great. I use it to connect to my home computer running XP Home(which doesn't have Remote Desktop). It's easy to open up XP's ICF ports to allow remote access through the viewer or through the browser. Best free program I've downloaded."
