Default Ghosting - wha???

I would worship and adore the person who can explain Norton Ghost to me. Being a hardware person, software follows a rule where - as long as it works, thats cool.

And so to ghost... all I know is you can 'clone' and entire image to a new hard drive. Ive got it on my rig, ive looked and pondered at it for a few hours total, but cant really click it in my mind - I need a simple idiots guide to using it - do you need bank CD's? do you need your new hard drive there ready for it?

What how when where???

Please help the confussed and the lost minded of us.

NEV ,i can give ya a little bit of a start but cant answer all the questions.
yes you do need blank cds or dvd and if you have a partitioon or a second harddrive i also believe you can store you image on it also.It will tell you how many cds you need to back up.I need to askwhat version you are using the newest one 8 has a step by step tutor that you can watch and it will guide ya through. In addition there is a great write up a month or two ago in Maximum PC about backing up.

It is fairly simple... assuming you have the second HD or CD/DVD-RW hooked up and recognized by the bios, you put the Norton Ghost boot floppy in the A: drive and boot the computer. Follow the simple menu options and away we go. Backing-up and Restoring work in similar fashion, you choose the source of the data and the destination of the ghost image.
