Xp locking my files.

Recently my main XP install got corrupted by some uninstalls gone wrong of some spyware

my main drive would not boot, so i loaded XP on to another HDD, but cant get into the files because those user accounts have passwords...what can I do?

First of all, load XP installer from the CD and try to repair the original installation. If that does not work, you can always try NTFSDOS:

You'll need a MS-DOS boot floppy to make it work, though (a Win98 rescue dics or somethink like that). Besides, it will be a rather painful procedure, as you'll have to manually copy all the files you want to recover to another disk. Hope the first solution works out.

for access permissions, log on XP in safe mode, and get in the admin account.

then right click the folders and change the access permissions so you can get at them

should work fine.
