Exclamation IE 6 problem

My bro dropped his comp off at my house infroming that his ie was not working propely....

He has an university bought dell with xp pro with service pack 1 , 2.4c ,512mb dual ddr 3200, intergrated vedeo, network , and sound, and some 30 gig hardrive

Well anyway everything is runnig fine.... except when u try to open ie it just pops up with the xp ( windows has enconutered an problem and needs to close box ) it can access the internet via wheatherbug and updates for his viruse protection ie just craches evrytime u access it

im scanning right now for viruses but he has kept up to date on his virus software and his comp is clean of spyware ... i was thinking about using the sytem restore disk but i think the porblem is easier to fix than having to reformat ..... if any of u have heard of a problem like this i would be vary grateful for ur input
-thx

Why not just restore from an earlier date? (Start --> Programs --> Accessories -> System Tools --> System Restore) take a snapshot before you do a restore, then pick a restore date from before this problem started happening, and go from there. That way you don't have to reformat the damn thing.

Just dont use it any more. There are plenty of other great browser's out there.

Mozilla Firefox
Avant Browser

Those are just a few of the most popular.
