Default win2k can't see cd drives

I have a TDK dvd burner that came bundled with Roxio software that was necessary to install for the device driver. I also have Pinnacle’s Studio 8 dvd editing software that is evidently incompatible with Roxio. I uninstalled the dvd portion of the Roxio software program and have successfully burned many dvd discs. I then decided to install an earlier version (5) of Roxio’s Easy cd creator to burn music cd’s. Since then, Win2k cannot recognized either cd device (the TDK burner or the regular cd player). If I go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager there are yellow exclamation points by each cd device. If I right click on Properties there is the message: “ Your registry might be corrupted. (Code 19)” I have disconnected and reinstalled both cd drives, didn’t help. I have used the Win2k registry repair tool, didn’t help. Is my only option to format my hard drive and reinstall Win2k? Thanks!
