I have no clue when this comes up. It always does when ever I forget about it.
Ive seen it on my parents computer too but I have no clue how I get it or what its meant to do or anything.

It always just shows up on my desktop

It looks like you use your desktop to store items you are working on occassionally. It is a temporary file that is meant as a backup in case the file you are working in crashes. Add the extension of the files you are working with when it shows up (.jpg, .doc...). Then you can figure out which program is using the desktop as a temp area and change it in the settings.

but if its just a temp file I can delete it and not worry about it?

My dad's computer had this same bug. Im pretty sure BA is right, It seems to be a temp file for outlook, at least on that computer.
