Problems with Steam CS

do any of yall use Steam??? im try'd installing it on my brothers computer but for some reason when it gets done installing, and it tries to update and connect it gives me this "error: could not connect to steam network" sh1T!!! and i dont know why, hes not the admin on it, so i tried installin on admin, and it still didnt work. Forums say "make sure ur internet connect is connected" WELL F'N DUH!!! how the hell am i lookin and forums on the net if it isnt working
so any of yall have any ideas on how to fix???!!!

well i just tryed to go to the steam homepage but it was down,
i tryed connecting to see if it would work for me and it didnt...

so i think that the two are linked somehow. just give it time untill www.steampowered.com comes back up

if that issue continues, try logging out, and log back in. that has helped for me.

u mean log out of win2k, or steam, becuase i cant even log on to steam

reliability isnt one of steam's strong points. for me it wont run on XP so luckily i didnt wipe my old hard drive with win 98 so i can just boot from that drive to play CS. if it gives you an error window with 3 choices like cancel retry and something else just keep hitting retry and it seems to work its self out.

Talking about steam always get's me steamed for one reason.

For Steam enabled games.
If you have a Lan-party accent on LAN all players still need to connect to steam before they can start the game...

but what is messed up is that i can go in my room and smack it up on steam, at the same time, my brothers wont even connect
so its not the steam netword

steam is a huge mistake for Valve, The buggiest program i have ever seen, it uses so much mem and it freezes and crashes and everything. I love cs and Day of Defeat but steam is just plain horriable.

I downloaded Steam twice and tried installing it and both installation files were corrupt or some BS like that.

My server uses WON, tried and true, never fails.

indeed won is nice still. I personally would like to tell them that it sucks , Half Life 2 is basically delayed till the fix steam :/

talem Apex Techie II	indeed won is nice still. I personally would like to tell them that it sucks , Half Life 2 is basically delayed till the fix steam :/
