The big question - should I switch from 98SE to XP Pro?

I need to know wether to switch...Ive heard great things about XP Pro, but Ive used 98SE since it came out and I love it...All my programs are for 98, and Im used to every function...should I switch? Will I be happier in the end with XP Pro or 98SE?

I felt the same way, XP takes some getting used to but once used to it it is WAYYY better than 98SE

Myystical1 , you will be mystified beyond your wildest dreams with XP home or pro, ( go for home its cheaper and does same thing)
There is no comparison and besides didnt MS stop support on that antiquated broken down 0s ???
Now I will sit back and read what 99% of the people here will have to say bout XP, nuttin but g00dness.

I had the same concerns, Even held out for a few years. I am more than happy with XP pro

XP Pro of course. What programs do you think are only for Win98? I havent had any compatability issues yet.

I was in the same boat.....Win 98 worked and if it aint broke dont fix it. I however switched and after a while have grown to love it. Now if I have to work on a Win 98 PC all I do is cuss the POS operating system. I do alot of Windows XP installs and you can buy just the Certificate of Authenticity of Pricewatch for right around $50 - if you know someone who has an installation CD.

This topic comes up every couple months. The answer is always (overwhelmingly) in favor of WinXP.

Even the military has moved on. I know the Army just sent a directive that any ME or earlier OS's need to get off military networks ASAP due to security risks.

Yes. Switch now. Don't wait. I've had XP since the day it came out (first time I did that with an OS) and I was not in the least bit sorry.
