![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Screwed the pooch last time on the reformat so since I had some extra time today, thought I would reformat again. Popped in the XP Pro SP2 disk and did a fresh install. Now, for some odd reason, it shows in the device manager that I don't have any PCI drivers or a VGA driver. Here's my specs... AMD Opteron 148 DFI LanParty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert ATI Radeon 2600HD Pro Thanks, Rob

not sure. ill ask the obvious tho have you grabbed the latest drivers from ATI and DFI? i know the board is old, so latest drivers will be about a year or so old. i just recently sold my old rig that was running that board. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This comes up directly after the fresh install without doing anything other than booting up the computer. Thought I would check the device manager since I hardly ever see it so clean and that's how I found it. Popped in the Install disk that comes with the video card since it's pretty recent and upon trying to install, it says there is no VGA driver found. So, I did the huge download of Windows update and lo and behold, I now have a VGA driver. However, I'm still stuck without the PCI device driver. Tried the ATI disk again...no luck. Device not found. I see another PCI-E slot that I'm going to try the video card in later, cause I've got to get to work. Thanks, Rob

| P'Hoe'toshop Fanatic | Corrupted install, maybe? There is a command that can be used to make sure all of Windows' files are in tact. I'll do some searching and let you know. EDIT- Open a command prompt, navigate to root, and use: sfc /scannow You may need your windows disk as well if there are missing or corrupted files. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Everything is cool now. On the DFI LanParty mobo I've got, it has an option to add an on-board sound "card" (of sorts) if you don't want to use a PCI sound card. Somehow, the stupid computer was reading this as an add-on PCI card that it didn't recognize. Low and behold, download a Leadtek audio driver and everything is taken care of. Finally glad to be over that happy horsesh*t.
