I've run into a few people having trouble when using office 2003 and getting a file from someone using office 2007 not being able to open the file due the the different file type

office 2003 word = .doc
office 2007 word = .docx

to fix this problem install this patch and all you office 03 users should be able to open office 07 files

It is kind of funny that you mention this Mace because i ran into a issue just the other day due to this, i went to send my DVD list to my friend and he could not see it and all he seen was all kinds of coding, it was because he uses Microsoft Office Word 2000 and i use Microsoft Office Word 2007 so i have to save it and send it to him as a different format.

Now for you guys and gals that are using the new MS Office Word 2007 this is what i do when i want to send them a word document when they are still using MS Office Word 97 to 03.

1st thing i do is open up my document i will be sending or saving like the one in the attach image, next i go up to the top left hand corner and click on the logo next to the floppy and click on that, then next you see a box open up with all types of different tabs you can choose from, for me it is the tab that says Save as and then i pick from the right you see what format you will want to use i pick Word 97 to 2003 Document and save the document to where ever you would like it to be save to.

Now if you want to save it as MS Office Word 2007 go to Save as and then just pick the first tab on the top that says Word Document..

I must also say that office 2003 word = .doc : this format is also used for 97..

Ive got 2003 at my office and 2007 at home.

Can't you just "Save As" 2003 word doc in 2007?
