| Apex Master Tech Apprentice | Kay, I just re-installed Windows XP x64 on an existing partition. Problem is, on the Hard Disk Manager, the partition shows up in the middle of two chunks of unallocated space, roughly 160 Gb and 25 Gb. Is there any way for me to consolidate that unused space into a single partition, like a program perhaps? Thanks in advance.

I've heard that Acronis Disk Director works well with XP 64. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| PCApex Corr-Hoe-spondent | EDIT:For some reason i read "Vista 64bit " - not sure if following will work in XP... Is there other partitions on that disk, or does it look like this: |25GB unallocated space || (C: )120GB NTFS Healty(System,Boot,Pagefile... yada, yada ||160GB unallocated space | You are using Vista Disk Management, right? If you don't have other partitions on that disk, you could try the following: 1. Right click on (C: ) 2. Click "Extend Volume" 3. Extend the disk with your unallocated space, you might have to do it twice, one for the 25, and one for the 160. 4. You should now have a disk roughly 185GB larger than before. 5. Right click on (C: ) 6. Click "Shrink Volume" 8. In the shrink option , shrink it the size that you want new partition. 9. You should now have a new unallocated space, whatever size you choosed 10. Right click on unallocated space 11. Click on " New Simple Volume" Voila! If theres more than these 3 "partitions" on that disk, this might not work, up to you to try it,-it did not work for me when i had 2 partitions and 2 unallocated spaces.... Good Luck! Disclaimer: Anyone reading this, and following these steps are doing so on their own risk. Choosing the wrong partition, click on wrong options, format wrong partition, or disk can result in loosing your data.
