Recent programs not showing

No matter what I do, it doesn't show the apps in the left side of my start menu. I even booted off the windows CD and chose 'repair'!
Anyone know what my problem is? I think it happened after I did some stuff from the tweaktown xp tweak guide "From reformat to relax."
Windows XP used windowsupdate to upgrade to SP1

Not sure if this is what's going on but, Right click Start, Properties, Customize Number of programs on Start Menu. Set that to what ever. Hope this will help.
P.S. I agree sleep is a poor replacement for Caffeine

Thats weird. Let me know what you find out. You are installing the programs from the same account that you are running them, right?

Do the files of the new programs show up on your hard drive?
