![]() | I have 'em both too, and I have to say, i depends on what you like doing. XP PRO does a lot for you, and doesn't bog if you know how to tweak it. 2kpro has a lot going for it, but not enough to make it "better"

| King of the Noobs! | XP Pro all the way. Yes it is a memory hog, but that can be compensated for real easily and cheaper than in the past. I no longer see the need for Ram to be a burden, put 1 GIG of Ram in your computer and your set (even 768 will do).

| Apex Tech Maniac Supreme | XP pro unless you have some seriously slow hardware. but at that point 2000 wouldnt be that much better anyway. Yeah XP definately rocks. I found it funny that when i bought it release week people were trying to tell me how much it sucked... now its the greatest thinng since graphical dos. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well, i got 2000pro on one but i really like XP. i kinda breezed over 2000pro after ME so i dont really know the advantages compared to XP, but i can tell you that if your into customizing WIN OSs, both are on the same playing field for the most part. |

| Apex Tech Maniac Supreme | I use XP because I prefer the additional features..... mailny skinning without a third party app. 2K does have it's bebefits though.... it's much more accepting of some hardware and I've found that I can get another 200+MHz OC with 2K (stable too) than with XP.... dunno why, but that's the same on both of my machines. So, it depends what you want to get out of it.

| Mastah Overclocker | Alos I believe you need windows XP to take advantage of the AMD performance boost indicated by the funky marketing game AMD cooked up to rate their cpu's. The XP24000+ on win2k will only perform as a 2.0GHZ cpu (Actual clock speed) instead acting like a 2.4ghz cpu with XP

| Sam-Hoe-rai N-Hoe-mad | XP. 2000 I used for 2 weeks, in that time, it crashed constantly (which surprised me 'cause it was supposed to be so much more stable), wouldn't find the drivers for my camera (XP picks it up automatically), and I hate having to download 3rd party software to emulate crap like "msconfig"... For performance, a little tweaking can go a long way.

![]() | Windows XP is Windows 2000 with some extra icing. To name a few advantages: -Remote terminal client -Using remote terminal client from XP machines doesnt suck a terminal services lisence! YAY!! (like anyone cares but freakes) -Built-in firewall -Built-in CD burning -Built-in Zip file support -Driver Rollback -Skinnable GUI -Fast user switching -Cleartype -WebDAV much more... on the downside you get the fisherprice interface
