Windows Media Player

My windows media player just stoped working??!! I go to start a song and it takes a while and then it gives me one of those send error report message things and thats it.

Im using win xp pro, i tried updating to v9 but it didnt help. But i can make it work by right clicking and clicking open and then it starts. Does anyone know? Btw i am oced if that matters.

Dumb question, but did you change anything before it stopped working.

FWIW, I hear a lot of people have problems with 9.0, I stopped upgrading mine at 8.0.

Tried restoring the old version?

Kayin, winamp 2.91 is far better than 3.

I heard there was a winamp 5 in the works. It has the best features of 2+3.

Right click the shortcut to media player, Find Target, (c:\program files\windows media player) and delete the entire contents of the folder. Re-install, I have not done this but, I hear that it will work.

You can download Winamp 5 beta - I have it, its stable and I havent had any problems what so ever - grab it. You can use any of your existing skins with it to.

dblshot - i kinda did what you said, i just instaled a new one over the existing one and it works fine now thanks.

sorry guys i have never been a big fan of winamp i dont know why i just font like it.

Im with you Dimazz. Ive always used WM, and Ive never really liked the other programs I have tried. I suppose I do like Winamp for the plugins, but thats about it. WM9 just seems so easy to me.
