Default Overstuffing a Raptor!

Im sure it is with every hard drive, but it is just easy to over stuff your raptor when its only 36gb especially if you are running vista and some games.

I have noticed that if you have 5 gigs left and you try to install a game ( fear ) that is 6.7 gb you will either get a blue screen error or something the says catastrophic error.

This doesnt seem like something that would happen with xp, your thoughts???

hmmm, well... my thoughts?
Ok... just stop putting 20lbs of crap in a 10lbs bag... that outta do it...

Anyways, It seems a little bit annoying with BSOD, but seriously... whats better, BSOD telling you: Hey! It won't fit! - Or windows slowly filling up the last crevices of your raptor, till it raptures.....

Enough joking...well we all hate the BSOD, I haven't had one in Vista yet, but i reckon they look the same eh?
If I worked as a Windows programmer - I would totally add a Red Screen Of Death - just randomly to the blue one... that would scare the crap outta some ppls....

Sounds like another little error that MS will have to look into. I haven't had that error yet even though I didn't try to fill a raptor. I did fill a partition up by mistake with the install of Bio shock on my Vista 64 Ultimate. For some reason the install didn't notice, like I, there wouldn't be enough room to install. It came to the point where the install said it had to abort due to lack of storage.

My thoughts: Fear is an older game and is matured with XP. As with all new OS's, there a kinks to be worked out and the end users need to realize this and help work out every possible issue that pops up. That is why error reporting is so helpful to MS and to the end users. Not everyone realizes this, the multiple combinations of installed programs and system builds are endless. Programming is so complex these days that it doesn't surprise me one bit that an error pops up from time to time and makes the MS programmers go, "Geeze not another one!"

As stated . . . trying to put more data on a drive than it has space for simply wont work. Also, your drive needs room at the end for virtual memory. It certainly is not a problem with JUST Vista . . . Try it on XP and I'd bet you will have similar result. Most of my drives are in the 40GB range and I just move to the next PC when this one runs out of space!

Interesting concept, most people just add a HDD for more storage.

My suggestion: Add another 36GB raptor and stripe them. 72GB and faster
