Default Longest time?

Just out of curiosity, what is the longest any of you have had your computers on for consecutve days, hours, etc.? Please state what OS you were using too.

I am just wondering, because I'm using Windows 2000 Professional Edition and I'll be up to the 50 day mark this weekend and she hasn't slowed down very much at all! And yes, I do use my computer somewhat intensively.

My computer has been on for 2 years or better......without reboot the longest I had gone with Windows 98 was about 10 days or so - had a Gigabyte VA 7vrx rev 1.1 motherboard that seem to be lacking in reliability.

Went to Windows XP and an Intel mobo and have gone for roughly 20 or so days - Im not rebooting due to hardware problems, just whenever MicroSoft makes with their weak attempts at fixing their crappy OS.

I'd say that at home the longest was like a couple of months but I am at work now also and other than restarting after updates or installing new software this computer has been on for at least the last 2.5 years. (maybe longer but I didn't work here then)

i'm sorry, i guess i wasn't clear enough. what i meant was to ask how long you've gone without a reboot....whether its after installing a program or whatever. like i said earlier, i've been on for almost 50 days, but for the previous 25 days before that, it was on, and the only reason the OS wasn't running is because i ran outta memory when doing some intense ****. but windows has been continuously running for 48 days now

I havn't really counted, but if i had to guess i'd say about a week. I run alot of intense software, and I don't have the most resources to begin with, so i reboot every couple days or so.

6 or 7 days, XP Pro, Gigabyte GA-7IXEH, Duron 1.3

Crappy ass FPL (Duck knows who I'm talking about) power bumps

I swear we could have a 300-mph F5 tornado sitting on top of our house, trees flying everywhere, cars being tossed about like toys, crap flying everywhere, and we could still surf the net and frag online while the roof is being ripped off our house.

But in broad daylight, no clouds or nothing, power bumps. wtf?

Windows ME on the old machine couldn't hold itself together for better than a few hours. With Xp on the new machine it has run with no restarts faults or shutoffs for almost 3 months. I had a "power bump" as J-Dogg calls it and broke my record just a few days back when the weather got really bad. Oh well time to try and do one better.

I think I've had WinXP up for like 4 weeks or so.

The linux fileserver/connection sharer is up forever unless we have a power failure, same with my mom's Win98 email machine. They must be up for like 4 months at a time

I had a RedHat 6 machine run for about 150 days, before the rolling blackouts in SoCal a couple years back. My current RedHat 8 machine's best was about 60 days before that flippin fire clobbered power in my neighborhood. It was up again for about three weeks, but the power went out the other morning again...

My best with Win98 has probably been about a week, on a machine that does nothing but folding. My wife's Win98 box has to be shut down every six hours or so, lest it freezes up.

I usually leave my PC on all day, and power down at night... too freakin' loud while a guy's trying to sleep...

Regardless, I guess I hate to leave crap on... I'm always turning off lights, stereos, etc... to save on my power bill.

ADD: I guess it would look more like this:

DOS: 3 days (old man was updating a massive database, so he just left it on all the time. Drove my Mom nuts 'cause I got my little power-conservation deal from her).

Win 3.1: 24 hours ('cause I didn't sleep).

Win95: 2 days (Computer I was working on. Trying to recreate an intermitent lock-up).

Win 98: had a rig at work I left on for weeks at a time. It saw a lot of restarts though.

WinME: 24 hours... and it was locked up. (computer I was working on at my old job)

Win2000: 2 days (work computer... it got left on over a weekend)

WinXP: 2 weeks. I downloaded every free app and Linux version I could get hold of for kicks... so I'd leave my machine on all night.

Linux Red Hat 7.2: 3 days.

Linux Mandrake 9.0: 2 days

SuSE Linux 5: 1 day... waited all freaking day for it to install, and got a Kernel Panic. I'm thinking I'll try an updated version...

Linux Gentoo: 4 days waiting for it to update itself on a slow connection.

Macintosh O/S.X: 3 weeks (work machine, G4 tower)

Macintosh O/S 9: 1 week (another work machine, but it was being tested for a lot of stuff)

Anyway... There's probably more... but that covers the basics.
