Default Video Gets Garbled

edit: I posted this in the wrong forum.

A while back I noticed after playing games for awhile or watching movies that things would go awry. The movies is the easiest to explain. When watching a movie, when my vid card gets up to around 44c the video will stop but the sound will continue. I can move my mouse but cannot select anything untill it unfreezes and catches up to the sound. If I open a game or web browser after this, there is always black artifacts around images, like the smileys for instance in this posting box.

When I restart my computer it solves the problem for a while but then it comes back if I do anything that puts a load on my vidcard or cpu.

I tried doing a reformat and installed a fresh copy of windows xp and this did absolutly nothing but waste my time.

Your in Luck Dude. I have the same card (but I have the AGP version). I had to RMA it and I got a new one. BFG Was pretty good about the RMA, but after my 2nd one, they wont send me another. They told me to look at my system if the current one they gave me craps out again.

I was having trouble with [my current one] for a while, It would artifact in almost every game, but then I reformated and installed the latest drivers. Fixed up the artifacting and I havent had a hitch for a couple days.

It seems the cards are pretty prone to overheating, which is what happened to my other one (according to them anyway).

Long story short: RMA it.
