Hey whats up guys?

I am having problems with my folders i just bought a brand new 500gb hard drive, last week
i installed windows everything was fine the first time, but until i ran across a driver problem i had to reinstall windows again. My folders are usually C:\Documents and Settings\Top ViciouS\
now it is C:\Documents and Settings\Top ViciouS.TOP-B5111768849\

I backed all my music and pictures up and now when i use iTunes i get all kind of errors saying the file is not there cause it was ment for C:\Documents and Settings\Top ViciouS\My Documents\My Music

I hope this makes sense too any of you, i have even tried to change this in "Regedit" and change the folders there. And it still doesn't work there has something else out there that has got to work. I don't wanna reinstall windows xp again for the 6th time lol

Wow, 8 days and no responses. Wish I woulda seen this earlier. What happened, from what I see, is that you reinstalled over the existing installation. If you install with the same name multiple times, it appends random stuff to the name you use to separate the two installations, thus the .TOP-B5111768849 added on.

What I'd do (And have had to do in the past) is separate your important files out into a separate partition and reinstall again, but with an empty drive. A pain in the ass, I know, but it'll get things back to snuff.

Hmm so i would have to reinstall everything all over again? i found a way to fix the my music my picture folders i download TweakUI program its still aggravating though how the folders is now.

It's really more an annoyance than anything, esp if you've got things working. I'm still running my laptop with my 'additional' folders. I just copied the things out of my old folders into the new ones and deleted the others. I'll probably be thrown for a loop when I do a fresh format and don't have the .whatever added on. *laughs*
