Default CD key changer

Alright before you folks yell hax and w4r3z I have here two legitimate XP Home cd-keys, both off of an Emachines. I have another off of a Compaq.

I installed a ripped version of XP Home and planned to change the keys to one of the legit keys. If you don't believe me I have pictures of all three.

Anyway, the keychanger program won't let me use the keys I have, I tried all three of them. They are still on the backs of the machines they came with, and all were hit by lightning.

I'm guessing because the hatch of XP Home I installed isn't the same as the hatches from the keys I have.

Are there any key-changing programs that work around the hatching issue?

Well if it's a legal copy , you shouldn't have a problem, Windows Product Activation (WPA) key just makes sure that the win xp copy is not installed on more than 1 machine, you should be able just to call it in to MS, let them know you bought new hardware, and basically "junked" the old computer...

Edit note: If you can use any part of the old computers, hdd, network card etc, even better...

Get IT Done: Change the product key on Windows XP

Digg - Change XP product key with out reloading the OS

KeyChanger - Windows Edition (exe), from KeyRecover - Software Downloads - TechRepublic

If none of these work I don't know what to tell you.

The problem is that none of the hardware is still in use, i would start installation, and then call microsoft upon registration, tell 'em the truth, original hardware gone, due to lightning.
Who owns that software, you or MS?
It's paid for, and as long as it's not being used on more than one machine, it's yours...

I am going to agree with beetleman, You bought and paid for the keys its not your fault lighting hit it!

Ive called MS soooooo many times with keys ive found on old pc's that didnt work, They will just give you a 25 dig key to type in and bam.. your done .. it only takes about (6) mins as the automated pos tells you to say the key.. ARRRR... lol
