Default DirectX 9 problem.

Hey fellow gamers, I recently ran into a problem with dirextX 9. last night i formated my hard drive, after reinstaling all my drivers and games and updating them all, i go to play some cod2, i jacked the settings out and it closes the game and gives me the directx 9 error and says; DirectX9 encounterd an unrecoverable error, check the dicretx9 faq for reasons, so i cheak the faq. I meet all the things it says, proper directX intaled and hardware acceleration is set to Full, and all DirectX features under the Display Tab in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool are set to Enabled.

the system specs,
Core2 Duo 1.86
1gb OCZ valuePro series
Intel x975xBX mobo
BFG 7900GTX OC
OCZ powerstream 600watt psu.

So has any one ever seen or heard of this before ? i just want to get online and get some headshots

Mmm in the past, when ive had DX probs, ive just downloaded the latest redist. developer pack...

I dont have full knowledge of the inner workins of the API, but I understand the Developer Pack comes with a load of extra crap that for some reason has sorted out a number of problems for me before...

Give that a try.

There is also a DX removal tool out on the net (and here in previous threads if you search).
I'd wipe the current install before reinstalling.

It's supposed to be for all windows OS flavors

Perhaps you need to patch CoD 2?
